I can't believe that summer is over and Christmas is just around the corner. I think it's this working full time thing that is making time fly by!
We had such a great summer. Lots of motocross, camping, and outdoor activities. This was the first summer that I worked outside of the house since the kids were born. Figuring out childcare was STRESSFUL! I knew the time would come, but I found leaving my children for the day was a bigger deal than I had imagined. I have loved being home with them just about every single day since they were born. JD and I talked about a nanny vs. daycare. There is a daycare about 4 houses down from us, which would have been extremely convenient, but in the end we decided that we would both prefer a nanny situation. However, finding the right person was going to be tough. But...it ended up being very simple. We hired the daughter of someone I work with and someone JD went to high school with, so it really was stress free. She is a great girl and the kids loved her. She came over on the days that JD was away at work and because my job is only 1 mile from home, she'd get here just as I was on my way out the door, perfect. She took them on errands with her, got them out for exercise, and brought them with her on days she had things like soccer practice. I actually ended up feeling this was a beneficial experience for them...something different than staying home with mom and/or dad. Now that school has started and she is in school, the kids take the bus to daycare afterschool on the days JD is out of town working, but since I get off at 4:00 and the bus drops them off at 3:40, they aren't there long, and again, the experience has really been great for them. It's kind of put them out there in the world just a bit and I think that has really given the experience to show them something important that JD and I have always preached to them...you can always count on eachother! That's pretty much the only sure thing in this world. This includes taking care of eachother on the bus and at daycare, and I love it.
Anyway, have done a little scrapbooking the last couple of months inbetween coaching soccer, TKD, motocross, working, etc...
First, my sweet Ruby. I had to talk her into letting my buy this fedora for her. Finally I said I just wanted to take her picture in it and she never had to wear it again. Well, now she loves it, and also now has a hot pink one. Good taste.

This one is of Lucky on his 8th birthday. I just took a couple of quick pictures on our way out the door to school.

Back to getting prepared for Christmas!
